Our Own Light is the second in a series of chapbooks,
following Anthems, featuring teen poets responding to poems
in our anthology America, We Call Your Name. The poems
in Our Own Light were written in a workshop co-sponsored by
Sixteen Rivers Press and Writopia Lab. Sophia Hall, a
Washington, DC, Youth Poet Laureate whose work was
featured in Anthems, proposed the workshop and, along with
Murray Silverstein from the press, directed the project.
